Quarantine Blues
Okay, so I am a 100% sure you know that you know about Coronavirus, if you haven't, I assume you probably live under a rock. So, due to transmission through touch, we human beings have been locked inside our houses. WE, are human beings, SOCIAL beings. I for one, am missing the homies. It's not like I have nothing to do. You'd say "BeinG In QyArAnTiNe YoU HAvE No TiMe. WhAt?"
I am an extraordinary human, not to brag. Locked inside the gates of my home I find things to do. I have a few competitions coming up (online), I build robots, I paint, I karaoke, on my own. Basically, I have a long list of exciting things I want to do before the end of lockdown.
So, I will share with you my journey through lockdown.
13.2.20-25.2.20 (self quarantine)
This was the unofficial lockdown for ME. Everything was fine until, on Friday the 13th, my Math final was the next day. When I reached home my mom told me that the test was cancel. I was so happy, I dont know why, I just was. So, my dad was like, weren't you prepared. But, I was like I was prepared, but, now the exma is cancelled..I mean postponed to 23 of march. Then, I was in a bit of dilemma over what I should do, study or enjoy?
later. on 18 march we received the message saying that the test was OFFICIALLY cancelled.
Now, I had the peace of mind. For the next 3 days I rested, doing anything. Then, on 24 of March, lockdown was announced.
Day 1 (25.3.20)
This was the first day in lockdown, for some reason, the word lockdown makes me feel different, kinda scared. This was the first day of Navratri too. I woke up early, took a bath and did puja, I did not expect that, coming from me. This was also the day I started doing productive stuff. In the morning, I made a list of all the things I wanted to do before the day ended. The list included productive things like, finishing my robot, painting, singing, calligraphy, one origami object. completing mya last blog " TV series to watch", to read click here.
The day turned out to be a very productive one and I had lot of fun finishing the tasks.
Day 2 (26.3.20)
The second day, the routine wasn't very different, I made a robot, wrote my blog, painted. All in all. it was a nice day.

Day 2 (26.3.20)
The second day, the routine wasn't very different, I made a robot, wrote my blog, painted. All in all. it was a nice day.
The PM also had a talk today with the people from Benaras, his constituency. He gave advice regarding coronavirus, and what people should do. I can't believe I'm saying this already but quarantine is boring.
Day 3 (27.3.20)
The third day, routine was settled into, I woke up, took a bath, as this was the third day of navratri, I did puja ( Even I couldn't believe myself) . Today, in my list was to prepare for an upcoming competition, I had to solve a lot of sums and logical questions. The CoronaVirus numbers were rising. It had reached almost a thousand, that got me thinking, would the lockdown really be over on 15? If not, then I would miss my homies even more. I just hoped it would, this is the best time of the year, when the new class starts and you make new friends, new stationery, new teachers, but now I'm stuck a home due to this stupid virus. In my personal opinion, in this whole cacophony of events, China is to blame. However, we all are entitled to form our own opinions. Some of you may think that this virus was due to a human eating a bat, but, I have a different theory I read on one of the news blogs that China was synthetically making this virus, for retaliation purposes probably. I am not going to dive any deeper into this subject, but, you can read more at https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-51403795

Day 4 (28.3.20)
Today, was EARTH HOUR. A nice sweet gesture, to show for one day, how much we love Earth. Most of us fake it, while most of the stories that I saw on Instagram were related to Coronavirus But, non of them were ACTUALLY about Earth hour. It funny how some people can fake love, for their own mother. Meanwhile, if we look on the bright side of Covid, our planet is replenishing. The ozone layer is repairing itself, with humans not there to destroy it. Man, If you would've seen the difference , in November, the pollution levels would rise to 300-500 on my air purifier. Now, the count shows the single digit 1. In my favorite series "Manifest", one of my most favorite quote is "The things come together for good". Hopefully this virus also has a positive impact on the Earth and its inhabitants.
Day 5 (29.3.20)
Nothing of extreme importance happened today, except the count surpassed Thousand. The deaths are still controlled though. I discovered a new thought, I was going through some news when I read about the yug's. That's where I read about the Satyug. The Satyug also known as the golden era in the vedas is going to start in 2025. Right now, we are in kaliyug or dark times. Perhaps the word WILL emerge as the winner in this fight. According to vedas, the time Earth has been divided into eras-
1. Satyug ( Golden Era)
2. Treatyug
3. Dwaparyug
4. Kaliyug ( Dark times) Im thinking this happened for a reason, It is time India again emerges at the top, where it belongs.

Also, I wanted to do something different today, so I baked Brownies. I wish I could just pinch myself, this all would float into oblivion and it would turn out that I was dreaming. Believe it or not, I treied that.
Day 6 (30.3.20)
Also, I wanted to do something different today, so I baked Brownies. I wish I could just pinch myself, this all would float into oblivion and it would turn out that I was dreaming. Believe it or not, I treied that.
Day 6 (30.3.20)
The death toll has increased. Also, I'm starting to slip out of routine. I don't know why but, my sleep cycle is screwed for good. I CANNOT wake up early in the morning for some reason. The "great" American empire president, Trump said that there is going to be NO lockdown in NYC. Okay, apparently he hasn't learnt from Italy's mistake and is going to end up most infected. Boy, China is in so much trouble, The moment this is over everyone is going to pounce at them. The condition there is more stable, but the world is, well, infected. When you're inside the house there is not much to do, apparently this condition is going to continue till the virus is off the face of the Earth
Day 7 (31.3.20)
Okay, so something very bad happened today. I'm not sure you have heard of Tabhlighi Jamaat or not but, it is a world Islamic organisation. On Friday the 13th (of March) they had a huge congregation. Drum roll please,,,,,a few of the people present there were, infected. How amazing right ?(not). The people, who went to the congregation are fools. Didn't they realize that the world was under a crisis. Praying together was going to land them in trouble. I believe, it doesn't matter where you pray from, all that matters is your devotion. I hope this is all over soon, being an extreme extrovert, I don't know how I'm going to live.
Day 8 (1.4.20)
The crisis has increased, is that statement even possible? The numbers in India have surpassed my expectations, with death toll at 50. Scary? huh? There was meeting of all Indian CM's with the PM. The CM of Arunachal Pradesh tweeted that the lockdown would end on 15 and not be extended. I was very happy, but then she deleted it. America is under a crisis. NYC is STILL not under lockdown, how amazing is that. The numbers in India have increased exponentially, due to the Tabhlighi Jamaat. They believed that a collective prayer would bring an end to this nuance, what a big brain lol.
I almost forgot, Ramayan has been airing on DD for quite a while. The editing skills at time are appaling. Though I find the story a bit discriminating between gender roles, but those were the ancient times and we can't change that now. Today is the eighth day of navratri, that is ashtami.
Day 9 (2.4.20)
People are hitting the police men, this feels like deja vu. This happened about a month ago and people are actually trying to hurt people who are saving them. This also got me thinking about the literacy level of India. People who call themselves literate aren't actually literate. The real meaning behind literacy is, to be able to understand everyone's condition and actually put our minds to things, rather than jumping to conclusions. India probably needs to focus on that. One of the other roots to this problem the forwarding and spreading of lies through whatsapp and other social media. Besides that, I have some stuff in my list that I need to prepare for. I have to conduct a live class tomorrow to teach grade 4 students and I have a live class for my grade 9. Today, is RAMNAVMI. Apparently the main day out of all ten of them. I can finally have some non-veg tomorrow!
Lockdown is also making me crave
Day 10 (3.4.20)
We have officially hit the double digits. 11 more days to go. I woke up fairly early today. Nothing of great interest or importance happened today. I MADE COFFEE CAKE! Well, I was supposed to be making a lava cake but I had ran out of cocoa powder, so I had to make it work with coffee powder. It turned out GREAT! Too bad I made a small one. Modi ji announced, that on 5th April at 9 pm, we have to light diya's and candles. I can't even tell you how many theories have emerged, that corona will die due to all the heat from the diya's, nobody is going to simply believe that by lighting a diya we could be united.

Day 11 (4.4.20)
Today was as normal as it could be, I think I'm starting to settle into this life of quarantine. Our live classes are going to start soon, I don't think I will have a lot of time to write down each and every day so, instead I am going to merge a few days together and write about it altogether. Tomorrow is "diya-jalao day". I think this is turning out to be kinda like the BigBoss series almost every Sunday we are being given tasks to complete ( I swear I don't watch bigboss) Lets see how tomorrow goes.
Day 12 (5.4.20)
This is so screwed up, man, PM only told us to light DIYA'S inside our houses, GUESS WHAT, they turned to Diwali. These boneheads started bursting crackers. Dude, you were told to do something, WHY CAN'T YOU JUST DO THAT. These nimrod's also gathered together, took stick and started banging a corrugated sheet, like.......ok you know what, I'm going to calm down. It's just that the majority of our country doesn't know the seriousness of the issue at hand, all they wanna do is take their phones, take a picture with ONE diya that they lit and then caption that #diyajalao. I bet there are very few people who are doing this for the betterment of the nation or with any actual good intentions. Anyways, my classes will be starting from tomorrow. Lets see how this goes.

Day 13 - Day 19(6.4.20 - 12.4.20)
Live classes were back to back, we have been doing the live classes on zoom and its kind of nice. The number are increasing at godspeed, lol we have reached 7 thousand infected people. It seems people have forgotten about the jammat and their mistake. I don't think the lockdown is going to end anytime soon. Afterall, look at the mounting number of cases. The world is finally showing its colors, people we thought to be our models and idols are crumbling right in front of our eyes. This minister, committed suicide because he was afraid of the work and pressure that was going to come after this pandemic. I mean, look at the cowardness. China is back again with it fouls ways. Many of the helping hands are turning out to be dysfunctional and non working. The country was apparently out of lockdown after 11 weeks and then the number of imported cases have started to rise. Imported cases means cases that traveled from overseas. The first case (the one that spread) came from Italy on a holiday. Calm down, I know right, who comes on a holiday amidst a pandemic. I saw a book about coronavirus which was on its third edition, boy time passes FAST. Also, on that note I am absolutely sure the lockdown is going to extend. I saw this great movie I recommend you do too, Stargirl, it is an amazing movie, the character was a lot like me and the soundtracks were amazing, I still listen to them, you can go search for them. The main plot is Grace VanderWaal. I know right?! Yes, she can act. The movie was based on this girl trying to make the world a happier place living in her own quirky world. The whole story is from one of the main characters Leo's POV.
I have been trying new dishes at home, I made chilli potatoes, Dalgona coffee and tacos they were 2 seconds away from heaven lol.
I really miss school, you know how you wish for a holiday and when you get one you don't know what to do? Also I heard this beautiful song "Do you realize" by Sharon Van Etten. It says
instead of saying all of your goodbyes
Let them know you realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
Realize the sun don't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning 'round
They are really beautiful words and made me ponder on many things. Maybe you should ponder too.
(14.4.20)
(14.4.20)
Guess what? The lockdown is extended till may 5. We all knew this was going to happen, so suck it up! This is not fair, I was supposed to be going to school and enjoying with my friends, but, here I am, at home, without any friends. Why was China even making this virus? Anyways, the numbers are around 12k and I am still attending my classes. Lets finish this chapter here, our 21 day lcokdown ended up getting extended but, still alot of us had fun. I am going to continue this journey, in my next blog "Lockdown Diaries". Do check it out!
Stay safe, happy and have fun!
